Trying to define street photography is almost like trying to define what is sweet or salty. You can’t quite describe it, but you know it when you see it.
There are hints, feelings, ideas, stories or questions. These photos are meant to encourage the viewer. Whether or not street photography portrays reality is debatable, but I would argue that it portrays the photographer’s reality.
This set of photographs is meant to be a stop, a point where we stop and appreciate human figures as they are, when, for example, they are not in a hurry, they are not filtered or modified by anything. Our bodies carry us through life, and this is what they look like. From face to hand, from head to toe, in motion and in detail, these are our bodies. May we see them truly in all their glory, may we learn to love them, and may they guide us with strength and grace through the reality we create together..
